Lilly Koltun’s Distraction, at Studio Sixty Six only to Aug. 17, is a provocation that deserves a run longer than its scant 11 days.
Koltun, well known as a curator of 30-plus years at Library and Archives Canada and elsewhere, has created a small but effective multi-media experience. Her provocation is not for its own sake, but for the sake of viewers, who in the digital age can easily be lost in the all-encompassing flow of media imagery, particularly of the violent sort.
