Artificial Light

Oil on canvas
10 x 20 in. / 25 x 51 cm
Unframed
2018

This painting is inspired by Heironymus Bosch and Diego Rivera. Humans and fantastical creatures frolic in a machine-like setting. An over-sized cell phone, which at first looks like the cosmos, beams it’s ‘artificial light” onto the inhabitants.. Gordon states “To somewhat over simplify the theme, it has to do with humans stuck in the machine  – or in the digital world, but trying to reconnect to nature, to Earth, because we need to.”
