LEMON
The lemon can symbolize many — sometimes opposing — ideas. Sometimes it is considered a symbol of longevity, purification, love, and friendship, and other times it is seen to be symbolic of bitterness and disappointment.
I initially chose LEMON as my exhibition title because I was feeling optimistic and looking for a positive way forward. It was also a reference to my choice of colors for this body of work.
But lemons can be all of those things and colors change and evolve and so do we. LEMON is about healing and feeling restored, but it’s also about accepting the disparateness that comes from biting into a lemon.
