Artist's Insight
A hyperrealistic representation of a mineral in its most natural state, before being mined and broken down for its more common use in our society. The painting seeks to allow the viewer a moment to slow down and look closely at the beauty in earth's most raw form. When viewed on this scale, the viewer is allowed into the space, becoming part of the piece and taking on a new appreciation for all the small things that would otherwise be overlooked.
