Collected in Lac Bonin, Quebec on July 3, 2006

The Beggar (Eubaphe mendica) is a small geometer moth. The wings are semi-transparent, with spots said to resemble the holes in a beggar's clothing.

The caterpillars feed on maples and violets, rather different and unrelated plants!

This moth has a wingspread of 23 mm.
