Fueled by memory, grief and joy, this series of paintings unfold like a family album. Posed snapshots and casual interactions found in family photos, old and new, are rendered in hard edge sections of flat generous color. A visual language of joy portrays an imagery of loss and love.

David Gillanders’ methodically constructed paintings and drawings have in recent years employed a strategy of divided surfaces and an imagery based in everyday life to create artworks as metaphors for time, memory, work, and domesticity.

Do you provide framing services?

We handle custom framing for purchased artworks by working with a trusted, high quality framer based in Ottawa. Framing orders typically take 2 to 3 weeks for completion and use high quality materials. Quotes can be provided.

Do you install artwork?

Yes! We deliver, hang, and install artwork for clients locally in Ottawa. This service is complimentary with the purchase of an artwork.

How does shipping work?

We provide both domestic and international shipping. Quotes are prepared on a case by case basis depending on the size, weight, and medium of the artwork as well as its destination.

Is there parking available at the gallery?

We are located in the heart of the Glebe neighbourhood at the intersection of Bank Street and Fifth Avenue. Metered street parking is available infront of the gallery and 1-hour parking on the residential streets surrounding the gallery.
