Nature Merchant is a concept Troy has been working on for 8 years with recent editions completed in 2014 and 2015. The 2014 edition of Nature Merchant was acquired by the Art Gallery of Victoria for its permanent collection alongside notable artists like Emily Carr. Set in a dystopian future, Nature Merchant asks the viewer to reconsider the natural world. To imagine a world in which nature has become a form of currency. That men and women have become gatherers of the last remaining flora in which they sell for sustenance, acting as merchants of nature.
