Studio Sixty Six is a premiere commercial contemporary art gallery in the heart of the Glebe in Ottawa, Ontario. We seek an arts professional with experience in contemporary art, sales, marketing, and customer success. 
Founded in 2013, we represent emerging, mid-career, and established artists from across Canada. We offer collectors a tailored experience, exemplary service, and hands-on curation. We build the legacy of our artists; careers and our clients' collections.

Open Positions

Overview

  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Motivated and entrepreneurial.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a small team. 
  • Computer literacy: Google Suite, Microsoft 365, Inventory Management Systems, and CRMs like Hubspot or Salesforce.
  • The minimum education requirements are a Bachelors in business, marketing, arts, arts management, or a related field or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred. 
  • A valid driver's license. 

Sales & Marketing

  • At least three years of experience in sales and marketing. 
  • Expert knowledge in inbound and outbound strategies and tactics. 
  • Knowledge in applying agile methodologies. 

Assets

  • Knowledge of contemporary art. 
  • Bilingualism (French)
  • Degree in an art-related field.
  • Sales experience with luxury products
  • Design, art direction, or agency experience. 
  • Moderate to expert knowledge using Adobe CC. 
  • Knowledge of Shopify.

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Supporting the director in building relationships with existing and new collectors. Responding to collector needs.
  • Briefing/consulting the Studio Sales Manager regarding client contacts on an ongoing basis.
  • Attending events to increase potential contacts and increase the gallery’s profile

Marketing 

  • Assisting the Artistic Director with advertising and marketing exhibitions via various digital platforms as well as dispersal of print invitations.

Gallery Administration

  • Answering general queries, monitoring of general email account, and reporting back to the Gallery Sales Manager when working alone.
  • Ensuring the gallery is maintained and organized. This may require helping with installation, organizing the storage room, assisting with packaging, and moving artwork to clients' homes. 

Events

  • Assistance at exhibition openings and special events. 
  • Participate at art fairs in Toronto, Chicago, and New York. 

Hours: 10 hrs a week minimum and up to 35 hours a week.  

Type:  Part-Time/ Full-Time On-site

Pay: Based on experience. Commission.
