Colin Muir Dorward
Colin Muir Dorward aims to craft things that do not quite reveal themselves as they should be. Are they paintings? Are they sculptures? Are they paintings of sculptures or sculptures of paintings?
Colin Muir Dorward (born 1979) has a PhD in Visual Arts from Western University, an MFA from the University of Ottawa, and a BFA from Emily Carr University. He is currently living in the Yukon. Dorward was a 2012 finalist in the RBC Painting Competition and won the Honorable Mention in 2013. He was awarded the Robert and Isabel Pope Painter’s Residency at NSCAD University in 2014. His work is in numerous private and public art collections, including the RBC Corporate Art Collection, the National Gallery of Canada, the Yukon Permanent Collection, and the City of Ottawa Art Collection.
