Petra Sunbeam - Petra, Jordan

Saša Petricic
"Life, captured in a single sunbeam in the desert.
A spotlight on Petra – the “rose-red city, half as old as time.” It was carved from stone eons ago, traversed by Romans, caravans and Crusaders, and immortalized in poetry.
And it’s home to Khaled, who wards off the winter chill on a rock ledge. In summer he has to seek the deepest shade, during the floods he runs from waters raging along the riverbed in front of him.
He knows this world, he respects it. And he could easily have thought the words written by British poet John Burgon of this place: “From the rock as if by magic grown, eternal, silent, beautiful, alone!”
